Goodday all.
How is everyone?

Quite a while since I've made a journal entry. Not that I have a lot to say anyway.

Yesterday was my last day of work. Having to get up at 3.30 every day is very tiring, so I'm glad I don't have to go anymore.
I will need a new job but I've paid off my debts and got a bit extra so I can wait a bit before I need to work again.

Uhm, what else? Going to my new school this Tuesday. Pretty excited about it but at the same time a bit nervous. You never know how it will turn out, but I'll just have to wait to see how it will be.

Also, from today I'm not a teenager anymore, more like uhmm, a tweentager or something?
Today was a pretty damn good day so far, so that's a big YAY.

Sorry for the lack of being on dA but yeah I'm was sleeping a lot and I lost a little spirit that made me reply to every comment asap. But I may have found it again. It was trapped in the sugarpot. I don't know how it got there.

That is all I think.

How is everyone?

Ta ta and Arrivederci.

Yay, I'm no longer Jess Jobless!
I finally got a job. I went to a few employment agencies a couple of weeks ago and they all made promises that they would call me back and stuff like that but they didn't. Now I called one today again and she got all happy because she had 2 jobs for me. It's easy, boring and hard work but I don't give a fuck. I'm happy I finally got something to do. I'm really bored over here. So bored I actually do nothing all day because I can't motivate myself to even do some shopping or the laundry. I work from 4.30 AM till 11 AM and then from 2 PM till 10 PM. I'm glad I got it now because I'm almost in debt.
I need to save money for next schoolyear and I want a new tattoo which I suspect will be costly. I also bought a poster with border and everything that was expensive and a few cd's yesterday. I got two Otep Cd's now. I really like it. It's different and cool. I think I blew my boxes from the computer.

I'm hungry and I hadn't had propper food and drinks in days. I'm going to do some quick grocerie shopping now and going to bed early.

Yay to me? :licking:

Hey

Back in the Netherlands and glad about it too.
US was pretty cool, stayed a bit too long on one spot though.
But it sure did woke my adventerous side. I want to go see lots more now.
And I'm sure that will happen too.
Flew back Friday and arrived Saturday.
The kid in the row next to us kept puking. It smelled.
So, well, that's it.
I will add some pictures of where I was and stuff in the scraps tomorrow or something.
Anything exciting happened or something I missed?

Hey all.

I won’t write much in this DJ, but I did wanted to make one before I go.

What I would like to see in this journal are random comments/ rants / things that happened/ just things from anyone that wants to at any time. So it kind of turns into one large DJ from everyone. So go ahead write here whatever you want, when ever you want. So I have something to read if I come online and so I know how everyone is doing.

Alright, going now.
Miss you already & see you in a couple of months!
Ta ta.

Edit #1 : 03-03-06

Hello all.

How is everyone? (answer this question! Or I will get mad and choke little lambs! Yes, that is a threat.)

I'm doing pretty good. I'm a bit tired, another hard day of work.
Let me start of by telling you from the beginning.

Wednesday morning at 6:30 I got up. I couldn't sleep well, so I was awake before the alarm actually went off.
After a quick shower I went down to discover it had snowed. I had sixteenthousandeighthundred and nintythree panic attacks during the next two and a half seconds. After some tea and tranqualizer I thought to myself don't worry all will be fine.
At 8 my dad and I got in the car. I said goodbye to my mom and we drove off. My brother wanted to come so we picked him up. At about 8:10 we were on the road, ready to go. A lot of snow and traffic stops. A motorcyclist almost crashed 2 meters away from us, but he managed to keep his bike steady in the snow. I got worried shitless in the car about not being able to make it in time. Thankfully, my dad calmed me down saying all was going according to plan.
At 9:25 we arrived at Schiphol Airport. After 10 minutes of waiting I could check-in. I then said goodbye to my dad and brother. And I lost one of my contactlenses in the process of doing so.
After saying goodbye I walked around a while and headed to the gate. There I was questioned by some angry looking man about who packed my bags etc. etc.
At about 11:30 I got into the airplane. During the next hour all the other passengers got in. We flew out at 12:30.
After a long ass flight I got in Washington Dulles International Airport. There I got questioned again, 3 different times, by very rude people. The last guy who interrogated me in a Gestapo kind of manner, a little Mexican dude called Castillo topped the day for being the rudest. Calling me a cocksucker and pulling all my luggage from my bag and saying alright and left. Leaving me not knowing what to do with all my luggage on a table. After a few min I started packing again, but still not knowing what to do, after slowly packing in I got my bags and walked on. U.S. Marshall or Airport worker Castillo, you're a cunt!

I finally got out of the arrivel hall at about 4 US time. But then I couldn't find Eva, who was picking me up. So I got another fiftheenthousandfourhundred and seventysix panic attacks. After wandering around for at least half an hour and making numerous phonecalls home, we finally met up and drove to Keswick, VA.

At about 7 we arrived here. The first night I went to bed early because of all the time zone differences my whole pattern was ruined.

The next day, March 2nd, started off early, I woke at around 6:45. I got up and found Don, mixing milk for the lambs. There are 12 lambs that need to be feeded by hand 3 times a day. It's a cute sight. After that, we went and feed the big sheeps. All 100 of them, and I can tell you, those things are strong as f#ck. They're way over a hundred kilos and when they want food they do whatever it takes. It's a heavy job but pretty fun. I might actually get some muscles now.
After the big sheep, we need to feed the cows and bunnies. It's kind of sad that they sell bunnies. Before they get sold we need to break their neck, so I've heard. I hope I won't have to see, hear or do it.
After feeding the bunnies some other small things need to be done.
We finished the farm work at about 12. We then had lunch and headed to their other farm, about 2 hours away. These have 5 huge fields where we have to make a new fence for. But it's pretty good. Working outside, doing have labour, feels good.
We got back at 7 and had dinner. After that another 2 hours awake and then to bed.

Today was quite similar to yesterday except we had to do it with the two of us today. We got back at 8 today and had dinner at 9. Got online 20 minutes ago, but i'm fucking tired so I try to finish this quickly.

All is well here, pretty farm, very good place for taking pictures.
I don't feel 100% comfortable because they speak really uhmm, accentuated( don't know if it's a word, I mean with a LOT of accent), I need to say sorry at almost every sentence. Kind of sucks, and speaking english to complete strangers isn't my forte, so kind of sucks =(
I hope I grow into it.

I'm really tired so good night.
Hope to hear from all how it goes.

Goodnight, ta ta & arrivederci

Edit #2 : 13-03-06

Hello there.

Only one person answered my question about how everyone was. So I was forced to choke little, cute, pretty, innocent lambs to death. If this time noone answers I will play soccer with cute little innocent bunnies. So tell me!!

Well last ten days passed very quickly. It was a very busy time. Had to get up at 6:30 every day to feed the lambs and do the rest. If we worked very quickly we could be done at about 8:30. Then there is time for a quick shower. After that hop in the car for the 2 hour drive to the new farm. We had to work on the fence there. So we worked from about 11- 6 on the farm. Putting up electric fence, barb wire and field fence. Cut my hands and arms open threehundredtwentyseven times. Got some big gashes and cuts. Oww yeah and a shit load of splinters too! But it's less painful than they look. I might actually toughen up a bit here. Yay to that.
At lunchtime we usually go to McDonalds. Every ity bity town got McDonalds, Burger King, Hardee's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Domino's. And at every time of the day people are there.
But yeah, have lunch there and go back to work. Most of the times we quit at about 6. Then go out and eat somewhere. Everything in the supermarkets is expensive but eating at a restaurant is really cheap, you can have a good meal for like 10 dollar. That includes drink. Over here, in Holland at least, that's way more expensive.
But yeah most of the time got home at about 8-9. After getting home it was quickly bed time, I am wasted at that time. I sleep pretty well and wake up at decent times. I just have the weirdest dreams nowadays. A lot of them too, way way way more than I can remember having in Holland. I have no idea why, probably because I wake up so often at night.

This Saturday and Sunday we went home early. So we left at about 3. On the way back we went to Don's other job. He is 'consultant' at a El Paca farm. So we walked around there for a bit. El Paca's are like midget llama's :llama:.
You can't do anything with them, they are just expensive as fuck. People just buy them to show of how rich they are, they are like 50-100 K each! But they are quite cool, their fur is really soft and they are pattable : pat:. Only if they get aggravated they spit, and they aim for your face. Fortunately I didn't agg them enough. After walking around the farm for a while Don said 'Come lets go to the house of the owner of this all' . This lady, Mary, is granddaughter (or something close) of General Lee Patton. I don't know who he is, I've heard his name before but no idea what he did or when. But yeah, we went to her home. It's an oddly shaped house, but it looked pretty good. She was at an El Paca show this weekend so we could walk around in all freedom. From the inside it was pretty cool too, not my kind of taste. She did have a library I liked a lot. One of the bathrooms and the kitchen were pretty neat too. Don and Eva are friends with Mary and they said she was going to buy an 81" (eightyone inch) TV that cost 135000 dollar (hundredandthirtyfivethousanddollars) HOLY SHIT :faint:. You can buy 2 nice cars from that. At first I didn't beleive it till I went into her house. I really think it's true. Fucking hell 135K... for a tv...

Don and Eva are now away for 3 days to pick up another 400 sheep. They got 400 now so it's going to almost twice as busy soon. I'm glad we finished one fence this week though. Only 4 more fields to go :sigh:.
But they being away for three days means I have to manage the farm on my own! It's going to be hard since they breed Crazy Sheep, they really are crazy. If they are really hungry or stressed they will do anything, like running into the wall at full speed. They had that last year ago, thing broke it's neck. Ha, stupid sheep. Some lambs are really cool though. I got a couple of favourites. My number one favourite is Dusty Hoffman, a little grey lamb with blue grey eyes. Cool little thing. Second is a white little lamb in the barn, it's mom doesn't have enough milk for her so I need to feed him every day. If she notices it's me she comes running op to me and jumps up to me. They can't run very steady so it's a very cute sight when they try and run up to you. :aww:
The third one is the one that's in the kennel in the porch. This one is the weakest from the three and he is not pretty or really cool. But what is cool is that he follows you wherever you go and nibbles on my hand and shoe. Probably just thinks I'm a parent, but still cool.
But yeah anyway, got the farm for my own for these days. Going to be hard work. I got a sunburn and most of my muscles already ache. But no time for complaining (I like not having time to complain, makes you forget much easier) I did something with my right pinky though. It's been hurting for more than a week now, it doesn't feel good. Don't think it's broken but it's too long to be just concusted (no idea how to spell it). It hurts like shit, if it still hurts in 2 weeks I might go see someone for it.

When all the fields are ' fenced' they will move to the new farm. I could only look at it via the windows, but it looked bigger and better. And it's only 20 min away from Washington DC! So that's cool too.

I heard next Friday they/we are going to see The Globetrotters. I don't know if I need to stay home with the baby or go with them. I'll guess they will tell me.

So yeah, nearly time to score some food. No idea what I will make, any suggestions?

Oww yeah, I'm kind of bored these days, it is hard work but when it's done in the morning I just got off the rest of the day, so in those hours I'm bored. So I would appreciate it if people would just write some nonsense or something in the journal, doesn't matter what it is. My pinky aches. I'm off now.

Good evening, ta ta & Arrivederci.

P.s. Sorry for the spelling errors or crooked sentences, I can't be bothered to read the story and correct them.

Today was one of my worst days ever. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong, to top the day off, I crashed into a tree with one of their pick-up trucks.
I just told them on the phone, I've been pissing my pants all day. I think I want to go home. Maybe they will ask me to please leave, I don't know. Fuck. It sucks.

Edit #4 : 20-03-06

How is everyone? Anyone has anything fun to say? Or just anything?

After last horrible week this week began better. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. The pick-up truck was the worst. I wanted to feed the sheep so I got all the feeding buckets on the truck and headed to the field. About 6 meters before the gate I hit the breaks, I just heard a rattle and it didn't brake at all. To not slam or go through the gate I turned to the right. But, suprise surprise, there was a tree there... Hit it pretty bad with the front right. The hood was all curled up and the the door wouldn't open. Glad the other one did open. But yeah hit it pretty bad and quite some damage.
They got home Thursday. When they got home they said that I shouldn't worry so much about the truck. I did, but they did try to calm me down a bit. I went to bed 10 min after they got home. Next day we started of doing the daily stuff. Don had to leave early again, at about 6. So Eva and I did all the things. It went alright till we had to feed the sheep and use the truck. It did start quicker than it used to do. But when she turned around the fender hit the wheel with alot of screetching and pieping. So we tried to slam the fender back on it's place....with an axe.. We lost the headlight on the way. Believe it or not, the car looks even more wrecked now than before. But it drives again.... That day I also heard that probably Don's father would find it the worst.. Because it was his truck.. Well I'll be damned. He is the first owner of this 74 Chevy truck....So that made me feel like shit even more.
We done all the things we needed to do at about 11. We then headed to the new farm again to check on the 400 sheep they just picked up and to start fencing a new field. Got home at 11.
Next day was about the same got up at 6.30. Worked till about 11. Just before we were done on this farm we were going to feed the sheep. Eva drove the half wrecked pick-up truck to the gate I didn't want to hit. She hits the brakes a lot of rattling again and she drove right through the gate. The one I tried to avoid. I'm ashamed to admit it did made me feel better. It proves I didn't do weird things with the truck and that the brakes on it just really suck.
So at about 11 we drove to the other farm, got home at 10 again.
Saturday, was same thing again a bit. Did have American Pancakes for breakfast though. Yay. Worked till 5 because Don's parent's called if we wanted to go eat at Wood Grill Buffet, we ate there the day before aswell, but it was free so yeah we did. So I met his parent's. Thank goodness noone brought the truck up in the conversation. I was quiet as always. Got home at 10.
Yesterday was a long day again, same thing. Woke at 6.30, worked till 4. Then went to get some groceries. On the ride home Don asked when I was planning to leave. I said 'Whenever you want me to'. He then replied ' So, you can say another 2 months. So I think they are quite glad I can work at their farm. Otherwise they couldn't have picked up those 400 sheep and go today. So my own philosophying (sp?) made me feel a tad better. We had pizza for dinner. Did have a nice talk with Eva, just talked about random stuff but it was in English and I did feel quite good so I made her laugh a good couple of times. If I'm relaxed I think I can be a nice, good, sometimes even funny guy. But to get relaxed I need to be with people I know well (or be drunk).
Today they went to the other farm again. Don had to pick up El Paca's somewhere and Eva was getting ' shoes' for the Mary's (the rich woman) horses. What is that iron thing called. That thing that brings luck if you hang it above a door. I think it's horseshoe but there is a nicer word for it. Horseshoe sounds odd. But anyways, while Don and Eva were away I took care of the farm again. Today all went well. Glad to say that once in a while. Couple of hours ago they called to say they won't be here tomorrow either. So tomorrow got to be boer again.
I know I'll be alone here Thursday again. So, yeah, I'm really becoming a strong farmer. I lost weight! YAY! But I know I gained muscles, so yay to that too.
Now Joe vs Pro is on tv. Some average Joe's against topathletes.
I had spaggheti out of a can today. It tasted like total shit.
I'm really tired so I'm going to bed now. Hope I can wake up a bit later tomorrow. At like 8 or something.

Ta ta, goodnight & Arrivederci.

Edit #5 : 08-04-06

Well Bonjour. How art chou?

Well just a small update. This week has been good. Yesterday Eva's brother and his boyfriend came over. Tim and Wim. They are really gay gay so they farmwork isn't really for them. But they are nice and quite funny.
But yeah, not much has happened during the last couple of weeks or so since the last update. We have been working on the fence for some time again. Shaved Alcapas too last Tuesdays. Met Mary then too, she's nice. They (Don & Eva + Mary & Rene) are going to a restaurant as a thanks for the shaving of the Alcapas. I might get invited too, I'm curious to see where we would eat then. I hope some ultra luxe restaurant in Washington. While Wim and Tim are here we are going to start moving things to the other house. I think we are going to pack things soon.
Last week we skinned and emptied 10 rabbits. We done another 8 the day before yesterday. You have to break their neck then hang them upside down and start skinning at the backfeet. Then you just slide the skin of the flesh. It is kinda dirty the first time but you get used to it very quickly. Also yesterday we had a sheep that gave birth to a lamb. But she tried so hard to push the lamb (that was stuck) out that she pushed the womb, guts, blatter etc. out. That was kind of dirty. We pushed the stuff back in but she kept pushing them out. We wanted to give her some time to recover. But today we had to put her out of her misery. So when we got the gun out and everything we found out she had just died.
Today I got headbutt by a ram, it fucking scared the shit out of me. The sheep weren't fed yet and when I went to feed the lambs first they got a taste from the feed when I sat it down to open a gate. When I pulled the bucket up again I pushed the ram away so it wouldn't eat more and walk into the lamb-nursery-room. So when I got my back to him to walk in it headbutt me in the lowerback. Holy shit, it really did scare the crap out of me. I walked of pretty scared but then I thought to myself I can't let that thing do that to me. So I went back and kicked the shit out of him this time. Fucking ram.
There is also a goat, named Michelle, that is extremely annoying. It follows you everywhere and eats everything. Starts chewing on your jeans, jacket, hands, buckets, food your carrying, bags with feed, everything. It's also always in your way. But enough complaining. I'm actually doing pretty damn good at the moment.
Had a little talk last week with Don and Eva, about how long I should still be here. They said they could sure use my help so we calculated about how long the government will still allow me. Till somewhere end of May. So they said well try to get a ticket for a flight back at about 26 of May. So, like, yeah, staying here for a while still.

Tell me a story or something.

Edit #6 : 01-04-06

So, well an update again. Here we go, ok?

Hi, I'm Paul.
How are you?
Long time since I've updated this thing, almost a month. Shit, and to think that I was planning on updating this thing like daily.

Well, here, during this last month, it has all been quite similar to the other updates. It is, however, getting quieter and quieter. This, as in, less work. ( See how I try to sound smart by using sentences like that?)
Let me refresh my mind. A week after the last update, Wim and Tim (Eva's adopted brother and his boyfriend) went back to Holland. They were nice and it was cool that they were here, because everyone got much relaxederer. They helped out with packing in. (See, another of those sentences) But yeah, during that week we really started moving to the new farm in Marshall.
After a couple of days of packing and driving up and down to the farm most things were moved. All that was left were all the big stuff in the kitchen, bedrooms and TV room.
Friday, that week the truck broke down so the moving came to a halt. Something overheated or something. We were lucky that it happened right outside an auto repair shop, otherwise we had to get a tow truck to pull it to there. The next day we heard they would repair the truck next Tuesday. So, for now we were unable to move things. So we spend our times in Charlottesville and Fredericksburg. They got some malls over there that we visited. One is called Fashion Square, but there are zero decent jeans, shirts or shoes for sale.
Sunday they (Wim & Tim) went home (to Holland) again.
The following week was slow, most of the stuff was moved, and the truck was still not repaired. So we went to some more malls and cities to search for a couch and a dining table. On Thursday the truck was repaired and we could get going again. But we didn't. I don't really know why but things slowed down from then. We stayed home often and either slept or watching TV. Around the 18th ( I think) we started moving things back up there. During one of the trips to the farm I asked if I could go to Washington for a couple of days once they had moved up. They said ' Sure, we can't go this week but if you want to go next week, sure'. I was like' Yay, thanks' ( I use Yay in normal conversations.) So, during that week we moved most of the remaining things up there like, most of the kitchen, Faye's room and the laundry room.
I think the next day we went to the house of President Thomas Jefferson, he was against people having slaves, but he had 600 himself. Ha, stupid man. But we had a tourguide and it was quite interesting to see how a president lived those days and to see how the slaves lived. Big difference.
Somewhere around this time we also had to sheer the sheep. So we had to round up all the wool sheep so we could get them sheered. There were 2 guys who actually sheer. Damn you really don’t want to do that for a living, it kills your back and it’s heavy as fuck. You stand there for like 10 hours holding a 200 pound sheep with one hand and sheer it with the other hand. Respect to those guys.
When feeding the sheep one day I asked what these big holes in the ground were, and Don said ' Snake holes'. I thought he was shitting me but the barnyard is filled with big holes where snake live. And the snakes are supposedly big too. We also came to the conclusion that there are few things that scare me. Don tries to think up things like, hold that electric fence for 5 second, stick your hand in there, catch that big ram, do you dare to do this, do that. Funny thing is, if you say BOO or touch me when I'm unprepared it scares the shit out of me.
I also noticed that only few things gross me out. From what I've heard a lot of people wouldn't want to do the work I do at the farm because it's too smelly/dirty/whatever. Today however there were two things that were fucking nasty. One involved a sheep that had an infection above its ass, where the tail used to be. It was full of maggots. I've seen that before, but when Don shouted 'UGH' after touching the flesh above the wound I wanted to know what was so dirty. The flesh and skin like 10 centimeters around the wound are FULL of maggots and when I placed my hand on the flesh you could feel them crawling inside. All those slimy little fucking maggots, thousands of them, crawling under your hand in the flesh of that sheep. Fucking gross. You can hear them munching too when you place your ear near it. I didn't dare to place my ear on the flesh though. Ugh. The second thing was that a sheep had an infected eye. There was an absces (sp?) right under the eye, so Don had to pop it. Not the eye but the zit. All that pus and the sound and the squirting and the smell. And it isn't just a little pus but it's fucking spoons full. So yeah, think about THAT when you have dinner.
But I've gone to the juicy part too quick.
Last week, on Wednesday, I went to Washington. Caesar (horrible name), Eva's youngest brother, arrived this Wednesday too, so we figured it would be easy to drop me off first and that they would head out to pick him up at the airport.
So, at about 2 I was in the centre of Washington. Don and Eva had bought me a Lonely Planet book about Washington so I knew were the hostels were and so I had a map etc. After walking around a bit I arrived at the cheapest hostel in DC.
It was in a shady old building and neighborhood but close to the centre. I always thought hostels were cheap but damn, everything is expensive here in America. For 3 nights I had to pay almost 100 bucks for a dorm shared with 7 others. But since it was the cheapest one I had to go there. I could have spend more money and stayed at some hotel but where is the fun in that. I rather meet some people my age where I can at least talk with while having breakfast.
Anyways, after checking in, I didn't do much else that day, I strolled around the neighbourhood a bit, in search of scoring some feed.
When coming back to the room, there were already some people there; a mother and son from Washington State, a guy, Titi (or something similar) from Switzerland and two guys (Liam or Leeam or something and Christopher) from Manchester, England. These last 2 were in Washington for a couple of days before heading out to the next city. I had a chit-chat with them before they went out to some bars. They asked if I was old enough to get in bars there. Normally I'm not a party/bar-go-er, but in this case I would have done it, but I'm not 21 so I wouldn't have gotten in anywhere, anyway. When waking up next morning both of the Manchester guys had already left.
I went down to the second floor where the kitchen is and everything, to get me some breakfast. But, unfortunately, I was too late. So with an empty stomach I went and explored the city centre of DC. I walked around a bit until I found a bakery to get me a sandwich and some orange juice. After that I walked to the Mall. The Mall is a park that lies south of the centre. It goes all the way from west to east. Along the mall there are lots and lots of musea, government buildings, embassies, everything. I walked from west to east and along the way I saw some cool buildings. I have no idea what buildings they were but some where worth taking pictures of. I have no idea how to add pictures to a journal so if someone would be kind enough to tell me I will include them in the next update.
Anyway, Thursday I went to the National Air & Space museum. It was free and not too crowded so I thought it was worth a try. And I must say it was quite interesting. I joined a group of people who had a tour guide and I acted like I was with the group the whole time ( I think these people paid for the guide). The guide told a lot of interesting facts and fun things to know. I have forgotten all of them by now though. It was still early when I got in but it was gradually getting more and more busy. Busloads and busloads of kids arrived. Some with uniform and all. You can really see a difference between Dutch school kids and American ones. American kids look older, they are a lot bigger too, not in height but in width. US kids are more radical too and less mixed up, nerdy looking kid groups, preppy girl group, black 'gangster' kids groups, gothic kids groups etc. You see few 'normal' group less kids, how do I say this correct, I mean, almost everyone dresses a way to fit in somewhere. In Holland it mixes better, well at least that is what I see.
At about 11, I got out and sat in the park for a bit, to call some people over in Holland. At about 12 I was on my way again. Still walking on the Mall, I took some more pictures.
I then headed to Georgetown. Georgetown is a hip and a neighborhood were more students live. Washington centre, where the hostel was, is real formal. There are offices everywhere and everyone is in a suit and on their cellphones talking business. There is little to do there, shopping-wise.
After about an hour of walking and having lunch I got to Georgetown. There I walked around a bit, buying some books ( I bought 4 books of Palahniuk ; Survivor, Choke, Diary and Lullaby. I already read Choke, that book is FUCKING AWESOME. It’s about a guy who goes to fancy restaurants where he pretends to choke on food. So when someone saves him, the person feels responsible for his live and sends him checks and money. He uses the money to pay for the nursery home his mother is in. He’s also a sexaholic. I won’t give away the story because I hope someone will get the book and read it. I really liked it a lot. It’s full of humor, it’s macabre, but it’s really down to earth. It contains lots of sex but in a more funny way, just read it. Some parts are really in your face though.)
Anyway, I walked back to the hostel at about 6 that night and ate at McDonalds along the way somewhere.
Friday I got up early so I could get me some breakfast in the hostel. I had a bagel and some sweet thing. After breakfast I went out to make a trip similar to the trip I had the day before but with the intention to visit different shops and museums. This day I visited the National Aquarium, it’s a small museum under the House or Department of Commerce or something. It was alright. Pretty small and not too impressive, can’t recommend it. Since it was such a small museum I walked around the Mall for a bit longer, took some pics of the White House and the Washington Monument. After that I, once again, walked to Georgetown. This time I actually went in shops and bought myself some shoes. After that I found a really cool little bridge behind some mall. It was right in the sun and away from the streets. A lot of people walked there, and since I had that awesome book, Choke, I thought, I’ll go sit there and read for a bit. Well I read till about 5 before searching for a restaurant. This update is long and very boring. I ate at Paulo’s. It was a nice restaurant and the waiter was cool. He got me a nice cocktail to go with the Tiramisu I had for dinner. He also said he had heard about Choke and after reading the back of the book he said he was definitely getting it. He also recommended a book; Candy by some Luke or Lucas. After I had finished desert I sat there still reading my book till some guy start talking to me, it was a nice guy but he asked if I wanted to join him for dinner, thanks but no.
At about 7 I started heading home, well not home but to the hostel. I passed Barnes and Nobles, that’s where I had bought those 4 books the day before. I hopped in to see if that book Candy seemed any good. In the B&N there was a really nice and cool girl who helped me look for the book, after I asked if she knew any books like House of Leaves and Choke or Haunted she came up with a few suggestions. I liked her, I wish I knew people like that in Utrecht. Anyways, I bought another 5 books.
Halfway on my way to the hostel I thought to myself I’m missing something, and, well I’ll be damned, I forget my shoes in the bookstore. So I had to go back and get them.
I got back quite late, at about 9.
When entering the room, I noticed a new guy had arrived, Max from Germany. He’d been traveling for 6 months now and had six more weeks to go before returning home. He was an easy talker and was nice. He wanted to go out, so he asked if I wanted to come along. We first planned on going to Georgetown and hoped for a private student party we could go to but we quickly heard there were a lot of bars near the hostel. And well we thought, heck we give it a try, maybe they’ll let me in. Nope.
Well shit, anyways, I need to shorten this journal.
They didn’t let me in anywhere so I went back and Max went partying.
The next day, Saturday, was the day I would leave again. I got up at 8:30 to get some breakfast, after that I got all my stuff, wished Max good luck and checked out. I had to check out before 11 but I didn’t want to wait that long.
The plan was that either Eva or Don would pick me up from Metro station Vienna at 2 o’clock. I arrived there at 11… When I got there this early I thought, let me go take a little hike through this place. It was nice, some forest. Because I didn’t see any shops I sat my stuff against a tree and sat in the sun reading Choke till 2 o’clock. There I saw Eva waiting for me. I said hello and we talked a bit about the trip on the way back.
When we arrived at the new farm I greeted Caesar. He’s 15 but he’s bigger than me, he’s also 120 pounds heavier. He’s a difficult kid, he’s had some rough times, so I’m nice even though he can be annoying as fuck.
Well alright, last couple of days some more things moved to the new farm.
I’m staying alone at the old farm to feed the sheep and do the work around here. In the afternoon they come over to pick up some more stuff.
Today I cooked; I had Pasta-pesto with salmon. At first I thought I had messed it all up but it turned out alright.
This update was too long and too boring to read.

So I would like to sum it down to one line, which is a question:
What is your Solitaire High score?

Thank you.

Oww yeah and tell me something. I’ve heard that internet is free, so I can have more time to read and reply again. Come on don’t be shy, tell me anything you’d like.

Oww yeah, before I forget, I fly back to the Netherlands on the 26th of May and I arrive there on Saturday the 27th.

Edit #7 : 06-05-06

Good evening all.

How is everyone?
I'm bored and I got the hiccups. I'm tired but I cant sleep.
Well, how is everyone doing? Anything excited or fun happened lately?

I don't have anything fun or exciting to say, this update is more a question to update me on your lives. What's the news? Tell me.

I found a bag with cd's on the porch couple of days ago.
One of the cd's was The Greatest Movie Hits, and well I'm glad I found it, it's full of beautiful classic musical songs. There were also cd's of Robbie Williams, Blof, K's Choice and Anouk. I like all the cd's. I think they are Eva's, she got good taste, I like all those cd's.
Eva and Caesar are going back to Holland tomorrow. Caesar permanetly, becuase he lives there and Eva & Faye for a week. This is going to be a quiet week. Most of today's time I spent outside building rabbit cages. It's not difficult but very time consuming. I'm also not very handy, so well, it just slow work and a pain in the butt.
I'm looking forward to be going home to Holland. Three months is too much. I feel a bit reborn though, I got more self-esteem although I'm still shy towards Don and Eva. I don't know, I just feel more comfortable with myself, probably because I always wanted to live in America and now I just did it, without thinking about it too much, I just did it. I want to meet people, I'm more adventerous.
I'm drifting off from the point of this update.
Well tell me what's going on in your lives. Don't be ashamed, just tell me.

Well hello there people,

Remember me?
I was that one foreign kid that used to write these things every day.
Yeah that was me.

Anyway, how is everyone?

I'm doing fucking awesome.

I'm going to the US on the first of March. I'm going to live with a family on a farm in Virginia. I got in contact with them through the mother of the kids I babysit on. The niece, Eva, went to US 6 years ago to work on a horse stable of an extremely wealthy family. Some time ago she went to live with Don, who owns a sheep farm. Last year they got married and got a baby.
They got a big ass farm with 500 sheep, some cows, goats, 8 dogs, horses and they could use some help. Then, the mother of the kids I babysit on, Mette, asked them if it was alright if I came to help them. They gladly did and so did I. Mette knew I wanted this because we talked about this a few years ago and she knew I've always wanted to live in America. So 3 and a half week ago, I got a text message from Mette asking me if I wanted to go to the US. Woohoo, felt like I was dreaming. From then on we exchanged some emails (Eva and I).
She told me I could come from last week of February till April. But first we'll see how things go. I will be there to help at the farm and help them move. They had some issues or something with their landlord and they bought or hired a new house with land. I'll be there for at least a month. If all goes well in their and my eyes I'll stay a few months longer.

So if anyway lives near Keswick, VA. Let me know.
I don't know what their new place will be yet. But I assume I'll hear that soon.
I hope they got internet too, I'll try to keep you all updated.

So yeah... Really excited and anxious. Looking forward to it but pretty scary too. So yeah, next week I'm gone.

Just had to type this.

Now I'm going to pee of excitement.

Ta ta, goodbye and arrivederci
